Claude Code Exporter
A bookmarklet that saves a Claude Code web session to Markdown, with timestamps and session metadata.
1. Install
Drag this button to your bookmarks bar:
Bookmarks bar hidden? Press Ctrl+Shift+B (Cmd+Shift+B on Mac).
2. Use
- Open a session at
claude.ai/code/session_... - Click the bookmark. A panel appears in the top right corner.
- Pick what to include, then click Download .md or Copy.
What gets exported
- YAML front matter plus a metadata table: title, session ID, created / updated / exported times, status, model, effort, permission mode, environment, repo sources, working directory, Claude Code version, tags, prompt and tool call counts, token usage, API time and cost (when reported).
- Every prompt and reply with a local timestamp and UTC offset.
- Tool calls (Bash as shell blocks, Edit as diffs, Write with syntax highlighting, others as JSON), each with its result in a collapsible block. Long results are truncated to a limit you choose.
- Optional: thinking blocks, subagent messages, turn summaries, system-injected messages.
Everything runs in your browser using your existing claude.ai sign-in. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
